Vintage Kegerator

With the new brewery producing much larger batches, I needed a cool new kegerator! I have always loved the look of a vintage fridge. I set out in search of a fridge and found this one being advertised by a good will store. For 50 bucks, I made the drive and took ownership.

How it looked when I picked it up.

I then stripped it down to just a shell.

Next it was time to start stripping all of the old paint off of it and filling in any dents with Bondo.

Once that was complete, it was time to prime and paint. I don't have any pictures of priming as that's boring to look at. Here she is with the first coat.

After two coats, clear coat, and wet sanding. Not quite as shiny as I didn't buff. But smooth as glass.

Putting her back together. Before I did, I replaced all of the insulation with R-30 Unbacked insulation.

Now for the fun, mounting.

In her final resting place.

  1. If you still check this blog I have some questions abt your kegerator build. I'm doing one almost identical and would love to pick your brain abt a few things.
